    The moisture analyzer based on Karl Fischer (KF) coulometric titration method utilizes the following advantages to accurately measure trace moisture content (microgram level):

    The KF reaction exhibits high selectivity towards water; If no side reactions occur, this allows for high-precision measurement of only water.

    Coulombic titration is an absolute measurement technique that determines the mass of a given substance by measuring the amount of electricity required to electrolyze the substance. It doesn't necessarily require a standard solution.

    A 1-mA electrolysis current (easily measurable current and duration) flowing for 1 second generates a charge of 1 mC, which is equivalent to only 93.4 ng of water. Therefore, this technology allows for high-sensitivity measurements.

    Due to these reasons, the KF coulometric titration method is widely used for quality control analysis of liquid, solid, and gas samples.

    According to the structure of the electrolytic cell, the KF coulometric titration method can be divided into two chamber electrolysis method and single chamber electrolysis method. At present, the single chamber electrolysis method is not included in the official methods described in the Japanese Pharmacopoeia and other sources, so the two chamber method is the most commonly used. However, the single chamber method provides many advantages, including that they do not require a counter electrode solution - thereby reducing operating costs - and the simple structure of the electrolytic cell makes the equipment easier to maintain.
