    In an AC circuit with resistor R, inductor L, and capacitor C components, the voltage across the circuit is usually different from the current phase. If the parameters (L or C) or power frequency of the circuit components are adjusted, they can be in phase, and the entire circuit exhibits pure resistance. When the circuit reaches this state, it is called resonance. In the resonant state, the total impedance of the circuit reaches or approximates its maximum value, fully utilizing the resonance characteristics in science and application technology to prevent its harm. Depending on the different connection methods of the circuit, there are two types of series resonance and parallel resonance. In a series circuit composed of resistors, inductors, and capacitors, when the capacitor XC is equal to the inductor XL, i.e. XC=XL, the phase of the voltage U and current I in the circuit is the same, and the circuit exhibits pure resistance. This phenomenon is called series resonance (also known as voltage resonance). When the circuit undergoes series resonance, the impedance Z=R2+XC-XL2=R, the total impedance of the circuit is minimized, and the current will reach its maximum value.
