  • The core composition structure of the motor testing bench

    Cácmotor testing bench is an indispensable core equipment in motor research and development, production quality inspection, and maintenance. Simply put, it is a comprehensive testing platform that simulates the actual operating conditions of a motor. By simulating the load (torque and speed) and accurately measuring various parameters, it comprehensively evaluates the performance, efficiency, and reliability of the motor.

    Motor Test Bench

    A complete test bench consists of four subsystems:


    Power and loading unit: including the tested motor (installed on the test bench) and the load motor (usually a test motor or dynamometer). The load motor is responsible for applying resistance to the tested motor, simulating actual loads such as fans, wheels, or pumps. The common types of loads include electric dynamometer (four quadrant operation, capable of feeding back electrical energy) and magnetic powder/eddy current dynamometer (low-cost, but only capable of unidirectional loading).


    Sensor and signal acquisition unit: The core is a high-precision torque and speed sensor (installed between two motors), which measures the output torque and speed in real time. In addition, it also includes current clamps/Hall sensors (for measuring current), voltage transformers (for measuring voltage), temperature sensors (for measuring winding and bearing temperature rise), and vibration accelerometers (for measuring NVH).


    Power and Control Unit: The frequency converter/driver is responsible for controlling the start stop and speed regulation of the tested motor; The DUT (Device Under Test) controller is used for internal communication with the motor (such as CAN bus) to send target torque or speed commands.


    Data acquisition and upper computer system: including high-speed acquisition card and industrial computer equipped with testing software. The software is responsible for synchronously recording all data, generating characteristic curves (such as efficiency MAP), and has automatic alarm and power-off protection functions.
